Minister
Rev. Dr. Tom Thresher
Our
minister is the Rev. Tom Thresher, Ph.D. As a former
college professor, artist/craftsman, and a spiritual
explorer Tom brings an eclectic interfaith approach
to our church.
Ministering
to our church is Tom's third career. His first
was as a college professor in the San Francisco Bay
area where he taught economics and interdisciplinary
courses. His second career was as an
artist/craftsman producing a variety handcrafted
items from inlaid wooden clocks to alabaster
kaleidoscopes for galleries and collectors across
the country.
Tom holds a
Ph.D. in Economic Studies in Education and an M.A.
in Economics from Stanford University as well as a
Masters of Divinity from Pacific School of Religion.
He received eight years of intensive experiential
training in psycho/spiritual transformation, which
informs all of his endeavors.
Those who
know him note that "he has a great capacity for
listening and teaching in an open and caring manner.
He has a great sense of humor and love for people.
He has a particularly nice way with children."
He is a man who knows God from the heart as well as
from the head. He presents new ideas about
Christianity, consciousness, spirituality and
spiritual practice in an exciting and effective
way.
