Bits & Pieces...
You
May Have Noticed a New Face in the Office
While our beloved Carole Ann
Norton is recovering from her unexpected surgery, Jenny Kolln will be our
temporary office staff. You may recognize her as the person who does childcare
in our nursery on Sunday mornings. She also happens to be the niece of Bev
Staaden.Jenny is a graphic artist,
seamstress, and mother of two little girls. She teaches Irish Dance. She also
attends Olympic College, so office hours may change somewhat after school starts
again. Stop in and introduce yourself.

A
Taste of
Compassionate Listening
for Our Church Community!
Saturday, January 14 - 1:00-4:00 pm
Suquamish UCC
Join Leah Green, Founder and Director of
The
Compassionate Listening Project (based here in our
Church) for a 3-hour experiential “taste” of
Compassionate Listening.
This session will focus on skill-building exercises,
primarily in small groups, that explore the
five core
practices of Compassionate Listening:
-
Suspending judgment in conflict situations
-
Maintaining balance in the heat of conflict
-
Listening with the heart
-
Speaking from the heart
-
Cultivating compassion for oneself and others
The practice of Compassionate Listening
helps people become more powerful peacemakers in their
daily lives. This experiential session is offered for
our Church community members. We hope you will join us!
