The
girls and I tried a new church this morning. It's
Mountain View Community Church; they are a welcoming
ecumenical church, UCC, Presbyterian USA and United
Methodist.
I had
driven out on Friday to meet the Pastor, he was very
nice. They are a very small congregation of about 60
people. The service was much like those at UCC.
However their music wasn't up to the standards of SUCC.
After
the service they serve a light breakfast, which members
take turns providing. Next week they are having a pot
luck after the service.
Several
people introduced themselves. So we had time to chat
and get to know them. Since next Sunday is Jessica's
13th birthday we will bring a cake to celebrate at the
potluck.
I hope
to continue to attend and get back to that part of my
life which I have missed so much.
Before
we left, the pastor came up and gave me a hug and
thanked me for coming...that sold me right there!
