Where's
Tom?
It doesn’t seem like we have seen much of each other
during the month of July. It is because I took a
vacation and have 2 weeks of professional development
all back to back. Here is my schedule:
June 26
- July 4: On vacation. Hiking in the Olympics and
kayaking.
July 9 -
July 16: Integral Organizational Leadership Workshop in
Denver Colorado. I received a scholarship to attend
this workshop with Ken Wilber and other developers of
integral theory and practice. Integral theory is the
orientation that guides most of my work at the church
and my understanding of Christianity.
July 19
- July 23: Conference on Spiritual Activism in Berkeley,
California. This is the first of two national
conferences organized by Tikkun Magazine, a progressive
Jewish publication and is an interfaith, inter-spiritual
effort to help reshape the political landscape of
America. I am hopeful that it will provide a venue for
our church, and the denomination, to connect with other
faiths and activists in this country.
I will
be back in church on July 17th
and 24th.
On July 24 we will have a special
blessing of the pets.
