Kids
& Youth...
Our Pentecost Celebration
Pentecost was celebrated in grand style on May 15th.
The youth and their leaders led worship, during which
they shared experiences of their Faith Journey retreats
of the past nine months.
Blythe Peterson, Cami Maston, Wil Floyd
and Emma Floyd chose to continue their relationship with
Suquamish Church as members, while Seth Mangold, Quinn
Endresen, Nick Fogle and Corey Waterman will continue
with us as friends of the congregation.
A couple of faith
quotes:*
Faith means
being grasped by a power that is greater
than we are, a power that shakes us and
turns us, and transforms and heals us.
--Paul
Tillich, Protestant theologian
Faith is not a momentary feeling but a
struggle against the discouragement that
threatens us every time we meet with
resistance.
-- Bakole wa Ilunga, a
Catholic archbishop in Zaire

A simulation of the faith journey process
was the highlight with the youth and leaders moving
around the room as they introduced each other and read
statements of faith.
A poem by Cami Maston was read, the
youth's favorite hymns were sung, and the Rainbow
Quartet honored us by singing "We Hope You Dance" by
LeeAnn Womak.
During prayer time, Kelly Raber and Debe
Nelson shared the lighting of prayer candles which were
then floated in a glass bowl of water. The water
symbolized the variety of places the group went on their
retreats that seemed to always include a body of water.
The leaders want to thank everyone that
supported us on this journey! Debe Nelson, Christian Ed
Coordinator says "thank you!" to Kelly Raber, Claudia
Stuntebeck, Deborah Crews, and Leah Floyd for all they
contributed to the journey along the way.
