Away From Home

Hola

Well, it's 86 degrees, the sun is setting out over the Caribbean and a nice tradewind is blowing -- with the recent warm spell our pool has warmed up nicely too. How's things up north?

The girls are at the ISC talent show -- they are both in a dance number and Anna is singing with Deborah Chong, and Liz and Mikayla Ribeiro -- the song "Tomorrow from Annie."  They performed at the matinee and most of the audience was singing along.  As I was "woofing" during the applause, little Sarah Ribeiro (age 3) got mad and said, "You can't clap for them -- they are my sisters not yours."

Last week in the classroom was my first week using some of the booksets Carolina Veenstra brought down for me.  It was a blast.  Being able to do Guided Reading with some appropriate books is a lot more fun than standing at the front of the class.  We did make Solar System Mobiles -- I have since found out that tape does not work so well in the tropics. Jupiter and Saturn, being the largest planets, tend to detach at odd times and float down like so much gentle rain.  With 23 students, that is a lot of planetary action. And as always, 7-year-olds handle it so well -- you'd think it was the realBeebe Family thing colliding with earth they way they shout -- over and over.

Miss you all but not the weather.

Ajo,

Keith
