Rememberings

I heard the best program on public TV.  It featured some 50’s groups and individuals, doing some standard 50’s music.  I heard the "Four Freshmen"; "The Crew Cuts," "The Four Lads," and the "Platters."  Patti Page sang a couple of old familiar songs.  It was a great trip down memory lane……a treat for my ears.  I wonder though, how come I remember every word of the songs they did, when I can’t remember my best friend’s telephone number.  I blame it on my gray hair!

Hilda Maston -- Remember when?I have a word of advice for all of you who wear glasses.  I learned this the hard way… never put your "specs" down on a figured bedspread or piece of furniture.  They just disappear.

People our age are frequently heard saying... "Remember the time we went here," or "Remember when we did this or that?"  Remembering is a lovely occupation, when one is older, especially if we confine our remembering to "The Good Times"!

Speaking of 50’s music – how did those great sounds evolve into what we hear today in just 50 years?

Have you noticed that the elves have been busy again?  The church was Christmas beautiful and traditional.  Lovely to see it all again.

Have you ladies of my age group noticed that the closer Christmas comes, the more polite and helpful people are -- a good sign!
