What's Happened & What's Happening . . .

A Blue Christmas

Tuesday, December 21 at 7:00 pm

What is it?  A simple, quiet gathering of family, friends, and fellow church members.  A time to remember, cry, laugh, support, grieve, plan, pray, sing, breathe, and lift up.

Blue has many hues.  We feel sadness, joy, hope, sometimes all in the same breath.  In the jumble of Santa, holiday wrap, traffic and all, we find depth and warmth.

Join us for just a moment.

Book Group:  Rules for Radicals

In the light of the last election I am re-reading "Rules for Radicals" by Saul Alinsky.  I would love some company.  Alinsky has ideas that I think can help us work effectively for social change.  One of the things I see happening so often is that people do the same thing over and over again expecting different results.  Alinsky provides us with ideas so that we can do some new things that can bring different results.   I would love some company to read Alinsky and to talk about social change.  I think there are a number of things that we haven't done that we can do.

If you are interested in joining me, please see me, or contact the church office.

 Peace, Shalom,

                Steve Ekholm

Congratulations to Sally and Jerry

Serving at the United Church of Christ - Conference Level...

Sally Nelson is the new West-Central Area Representative to the Board of Directors.  She is very excited about her new position and is already planning for our area to host several meeting in the coming year.   Also, she will be visiting churches in the West-Central area as her time allows.   Congratulations, Sally!

Jerry Hebert is on the UCC Conference Board of Directors as the Representative of the Christian Life Service and Action Committee.  This committee helps people and congregations to connect with each other in practicing their faith.  They also act as a clearinghouse in helping to recognize, organize and coordinate a  wide variety of ministry networks.  Congratulations, Jerry!
