The mission
of the church states:
Following
the example of Jesus Christ, we strive to heal
the broken, to feed the hungry and to provide
service through outreach and involvement,
seeking wholeness, justice and righteousness for
all people.
Ways in which
we reach out into our community include involvement
of the church and its members in the Suquamish
Olalla Neighbors, the North Kitsap Fishline food
bank and thrift store, the Bainbridge Island-North
Kitsap Interfaith Council, the Human Rights Network,
and Habitat for Humanity. We help raise funds
through activities such as the annual Crop Walk.
Our church building provides a meeting place for
groups whose activities support the well-being of
our community.
Change for Change
On
the second Sunday of each month, we have a special
offering. All we ask for is your spare change.
A little change can change the world.
The
"Change for Change" offering in March will
benefit the church's Barbara Sneed Fund, which
provides emergency financial assistance to local
residents of the Suquamish area. With the
increasing cost of gas, food, and everything
else, the need is greater than ever.
Outreach on
the regional, national, and global level involves
quick-response assistance such as providing health
kits to hurricane victims and aid for victims of
earthquakes and floods, as well as support for UCC
programs such as Neighbors in Need and Our Church's
Wider Mission.
